INTERMEDIATE CLINICAL CODING- Challenge Exam

Prerequisites:
Candidates for the HIMAA Challenge Examination for Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACH and ACS clinical coding should have a minimum of 12 month's coding experience in a major hospital with medical records generated by an episode of care such as day surgery, planned surgery or simple medical problems.

A minimum mark of 80%  for the Challenge Examination for Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS within fifteen months of the intake date is required to be eligible to enrol in the Intermediate ICD-10AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding course.  This challenge examination is a two-hour written examination and consists of three parts

ADVANCED CLINICAL CODING – Challenge Exam

Prerequisites:
All students are required to sit a supervised challenge examination.Suitable candidates for the challenge examination for Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS will

1. have successfully completed the HIMAA Intermediate ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding (or equivalent)plus have a minimum of 12 months additional coding experience with a varied case-mix in a hospital environment

OR

2. have a minimum of four year's ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS coding experience in a major hospital environment with a varied case-mix

A minimum mark of 80% for the Challenge Examination in Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS within fifteen months of the intake date is required to be eligible to enrol in the Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding course
